Learning Highway - Further Education in Surrey

You can do further education courses after you have left school at the age of 16. You can do an enormous range of further education courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3. (Levels 4 and 5 count as Higher Education.) Further education courses can be academic (general) or vocational (job-related) - although most on offer are vocational.

The majority are offered by:
  • BTEC
  • City and Guilds
  • OCR
But there others. Some are offered by professional bodies like the Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers and Receptionists for instance, or by the Institute of Legal Executives.

In Surrey you can do courses at:
  • Colleges of Further Education
  • Colleges of Further and Higher Education
  • some Sixth Form Colleges

Not all colleges offer every available course.

Visit VT Career Management's website for a list to find out which courses are offered by each college OR go directly to their own websites.
